LITTLE LIONS Early Learning Academy - "Where learning is fun

Thank you for your interest in the South Fayette Little Lions Early Learning Academy, a high school Early Childhood Laboratory program.  Our program is a great experience for both high school students and preschool-aged children. This program prepares high school students for roles in the workforce with young children by giving them an opportunity to be directly involved in the daily operations of the program.  Although a certified teacher is always in the classroom, the high school students are the primary instructors, teaching lessons, writing curriculum, providing guidance, and practicing the theories of Early Childhood Education within the classroom environment.  All high school students must take a Child Psychology class before participating in the program and are under the supervision and guidance of the teacher. The Little Lions gain many positive benefits such as social interactions with peers, school appropriate skills modeled by the high school students, and involvement in a caring and productive classroom environment.

While at Little Lions, some concepts learned will be 2D and 3D shapes, math concepts, letter recognition, phonemic awareness, rhyming, and writing skills. Student learning will be fun and creative as they will participate in a variety of activities such as story time, calendar and weather, art, science, math, social studies, cooking, music, and movement. Throughout the year there are many special experiences for the children such as guest speakers, special activities, and parties. However, positive self-image is the primary goal, so that your child may be successful in future years.  The program at South Fayette emphasizes the importance of this development within every child.  It is the goal of the program to provide a learning atmosphere that will help your child feel secure with him or herself, allow your child to develop social skills and prepare your child for their kindergarten experience. Your student’s year at Little Lions culminates with a field trip experience and recognition ceremony.

The South Fayette Little Lions Early Learning Academy is an excellent educational and developmental experience that your child cannot afford to miss!  With this positive classroom experience, your child will not only develop a strong foundation in the basic skills but will also become enthusiastic toward learning! We look forward to working with your child!
