For your convenience, we have redesigned this page for easy access to scholarship and award opportunities using categories headings listed alphabetically.  Another change you will note is that we have combined all scholarship and award information into one link. Local, regional and national are now listed under the specific group heading.

In addition, we have listed information targeted to seniors in the first section and juniors in the second section.

For instance all sports related information will be listed under the SPORTS section.We also recommend that students and parents continue to use web based scholarship information in addition to our site.  You will notice links at the bottom of the page to the most popular links.

We also would like to include any scholarship and or award information you would like to post to the site to share with other students and parents.

Kent State University Award Program

Kent State University is pleased to announce they are expanding the University Award Program to include all 49 states outside of Ohio.  This program will grant each eligible incoming freshman or transfer student $3,700 per year toward the out of state surcharge.

Carnegie Mellon University Scholarships include:

• Andrew Carnegie Scholarships are worth half of the cost of tuition and are awarded to students in business, computer science, engineering, fine arts, information systems, liberal arts or the sciences
• Carnegie Mellon University Scholarships are worth at least half of the cost of tuition and are awarded to students in business, computer science, engineering, find arts, information systems, liberal arts or the sciences
• Judith Resnik-Challenger Scholarship are worth half the cost of tuition and are awarded to students in computer science, engineering, information systems or science

Requirements: Graduating high school seniors who maintain an un-weighted 3.0 GPA. Award categories include Academic Excellence, Business, Community Service, Education (future teachers), Engineering and Mathematics, Healthcare, Journalism, and Sports. More categories are added each year and are subject to change without notice. Hispanic high school seniors willing to travel to one of the following cities to receive their award: Chicago, Dallas, Houston, LA, Miami, NYC, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Antonio, San Diego, Northern California and Greater Washington DC.

Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship

Requirements: High school seniors who hold an official class rank in the top 5% of the graduating class; have a GPA equal to a 3.50 or above on a 4.00 scale (unweighted); have a SAT total score of 1150 or above (Critical Reading and Math scores only) or an ACT composite score of 25 or above.  You must receive your high school diploma the same year as the application.  Important additional information concerning this opportunity is available with Ms. Pedzwater.

PHEAA’s 2008-2009 New Economy Technology Scholarship (NETS) has added 10 new Allied Health programs to the approved list for the SciTech Scholarship.  The 2008-09 NETS Application and Master Promissory Note is available for students to apply on0line at www.pheaa.org.  Students must be at least 18 years of age to utilize this option as it expedites their application process.
