"The SAT Reasoning Test is a measure of the critical thinking skills you'll need for academic success in college. The SAT assesses how well you analyze and solve problems—skills you learned in school that you'll need in college. The SAT is typically taken by high school juniors and seniors."

Typically, Students will attempt the pre-test (PSAT) at some point during their sophomore or Junior year, after completion of higher level math including Algebra and Geometry. The SAT is usually taken once during your Junior year, and again during a students junior or senior year to achieve higher scores. Some students attempt a third testing session, but not necessary in most cases. SAT scores should be finalized before submission of a final application to colleges and universities.
Talk to your guidance counselor to determine the best time to take your exam.

How do I register for the SAT?
- Go to www.collegeboard.com
- click on SAT Reg. & Scores
- create your own SAT profile and register online
- get the best choice of test centers ( 392 745)
- get immediate registration confirmation
- print your admission ticket and receive and e-mail reminder before test day
- view and send your SAT scores online
- credit card required (Visa, Master Card, American Express, Discover or JCB accepted)
