Excellence means many things to different people. At South Fayette we take pride every day in striving for excellence in all that we do - whether it be in the classroom, on the athletic field, or under the lights on stage. This is our fifth annual Profiles of Excellence, an overview of the 2006-2007 school year - a year that marked much success and brought great pride to our community. Once again, we are pleased to report that South Fayette School District has exceeded all levels of proficiency requirements relative to “No Child Left Behind” and no school is identified in any area for need of improvement. We are proud of the continuing progress that our students have made in reading, math and writing achievement and we continue to work to attain higher levels of proficiency for all students.
While our test scores bring acclaim to our District and the hard work of our staff and students, we also recognize that the true measure of success is more than the results of one test. For this reason, our “Profiles of Excellence” highlights other factors that contribute to the overall quality of our school district, including staff and student achievements in academics, the arts and athletics.
Although South Fayette is on the cutting edge with respect to teaching practices and technology in our District, we will always believe that the strong traditions in our community contribute greatly to the overall effectiveness of our schools. Our standards are high and we accept the lofty expectations that have been set forth by this community. I hope that you will enjoy reviewing the highlights of a very successful 2006-2007 school year. We look forward to serving the children and community of South Fayette and preparing our children to be productive citizens in our society.
