South Fayette School District
Department of Pupil Personnel receives approximately
$9,245 to support social worker services in
our District.
The grant is to provide support
for our social worker services. Our social worker
program is a preventive/intervention program
that provides additional support services to
students, families, and staff when needed.
The social workers provide the
following support services to the pupil personnel
department: student counseling sessions, meetings
with parents on working with their child's issues
at home and how to handle outside agencies and
insurance, attend IEP meetings when necessary,
student observations, write behavior support
plans with the staff when needed, collect information
and write social histories for psychiatric evaluations,
make home visits due to attendance issues, provide
social skills group at the elementary, and provide
workshops for the staff.
Advisory committee meetings are held three times
per year to review data that is collected through
discipline reports, school violence reports, IST
data, and social worker statistics including outside
agencies.
