2006-2007 High School Scheduling Information & Procedures

9th and 10th Grade students must schedule a minimum of 7 credits.
11th and 12th grade students must schedule a minimum of 6.5 credits.

Students scheduling Honors and Advanced Placement courses should pay close attention to the criteria on the course selection sheets. The Honors Academy Application Form is available here for both Grade 11 and Grade 12, and must be completed and submitted to the Guidance Office for approval by June 15, 2006.

Questions concerning scheduling procedures should be directed to Mr. Sutter (Extension 251) or Mrs. Lane (Extension 252).

Scheduling Information for Parents - Highlights

It is our hope that you would sit down with your child and discuss his or her goals and the courses he or she would like to take next year. We encourage each student to take the most rigorous courses possible based on ability.

On Tuesday evening, March 14, from 7-9 p.m., we will hold a Parent Scheduling Information Night in our High School Theatre. At that time, we will discuss course and graduation requirements, provide options for students to customize their curricular programs, and answer any specific questions you may have relative to scheduling or preparing for post-secondary opportunities.

After you have attended the evening session, the guidance counselors will be happy to address specific scheduling questions you may have on March 15 and 16, from 12-7 p.m., if you would like to arrange an individual appointment with your child’s counselor. You may call Mrs. Siegel, Guidance Assistant, at Extension 250 to arrange an appointment.

It is important that parents first attend the evening session to hear the overview, as many questions may be answered at that time.

Scheduling Procedures - Highlights

Students should discuss the course offerings and scheduling procedures with their parents upon receiving the 2006-2007 Program of Studies.

Students and parents should complete the 2006-2007 Course Selection form. Consideration should be given to rescheduling required courses from previous years for which credit was not received or for courses that did not fit into a previous year’s schedule due to a conflict.

Course selection sheets are due to your English teacher by Friday, March 17, 2006.
