The South Fayette Elementary PTA has upgraded the school’s version of Accelerated Reader. The students now have access to over 100,000 tests.

How do students get the books to read?

Library at school during library period
Reading Den books
Community Library
Classroom book collections
Home book collections
Parents may choose to purchase the books

Accumulating Points

The number of points earned depends on the difficulty of the book and the number of questions answered correctly.
Points will accumulate throughout the year.

Incentive Program

	Level 1	Level 2	Level 3	Level 4
Kindergarten	5 points	10 points	15 points	20 points
First	5 points	10 points	15 points	20 points
Second	7 points	14 points	21 points	28 points
Third	10 points	20 points	30 points	40 points
Fourth	12 points	24 points	36 points	48 points

Level One Incentive – book, bookmark, pencil, sticker
Level Two Incentive – gifts from school store (although the last quarter incentive will be items selected and given to the student due to lack of time to get to the store)
Level Three Incentive - $5 gift certificate from a book store
Level Four Incentive - $10 gift certificate from a book store ~ Once the student has reached the 4th level, they continue to accumulate points and cycle through the levels over and over.
Incentives will be awarded every nine weeks.
All students participating will receive a certificate of participation at the end of the school year.

You can view your child’s progress in Accelerated Reader at Renaissance Home Connect from any computer with an Internet connection using these browsers:

To log in to Renaissance Home Connect Website: https://Hosted30.renlearn.com/24011/HomeConnect/Login.aspx

You will need to enter your child’s user name and password. This information has been recorded in your child’s agenda.

In Renaissance Home Connect you can also:
• Locate the Reading Level and Point Value of a book
• Click Email Setup to sign up to receive emails showing your student's quiz or test results
• Click Help to get answers to your questions about Renaissance Home Connect
