Welcome
to the homepage of the SF Elementary computer
lab! The primary purpose of the computer lab
at the elementary level is to provide students
with basic computer skills that will make them
more productive learners.
In
Kindergarten, the focus in computer lab is
on learning how to use the computer
and using educational software to reinforce
what is being taught in the classroom. Throughout
the early elementary grades (1-2), students
learn to utilize the computer as a tool as
well as using education software. Students
in the later elementary grades (3 and 4) focus
on using Successmaker Internet to reinforce
skills, using the computer as a research tool,
and publishing paragraphs written in the classroom.
Students
in grades K-4 attend computer lab once a week
for a half-hour period. Both the classroom
teacher and the Instructional Technology Assistant
monitor students in the lab. Mrs. Goodwill is
the Instructional Technology Assistant at elementary
school.
