South
Fayette Middle School is a part of the South
Fayette Township School District and is located
on the same 105-acre site as South Fayette Elementary
School and South Fayette High School on Old
Oakdale Road, McDonald, PA.
The
middle school is composed of grades 5 - 8 and
enrollment is over600 students, and growing!
Grade levels are structured using the team approach
to teaching with seven-member teams in grades
5 and 8, and eight-member team in grades 6 and
7. Core subjects in grades 5 - 7 include Reading/Language
Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies. Students
in grade 8 add a core Microsoft Word course.
Every
middle schooler takes part in an extensive foreign
language program beginning in grade 5. Students
may accomplish a full year of French, German,
or Spanish by the end of the 8th
grade year. Students are also exposed to a wide
variety of special and exploratory courses including
courses in the fine arts, technology, consumer
sciences and physical education.
The mission of the South Fayette Township School District, as
