Transportation
South Fayette School District owns and operates a fleet of over 30 school buses and vans. Approximately 2,000 students are transported daily by the district. This includes transporting over 200 students to 32 private, parochial, and special schools within a ten-mile radius of the district’s borders. The district also contracts with other carriers to transport South Fayette students to numerous special schools throughout the Pittsburgh area.

NOTIFICATION OF CLOSURE OF Millers Run Road Bridge for ONE YEAR, beginning October 13, 2008
The following is a summary of the different traffic phases associated with the Millers Run Bridge Reconstruction Project that is being administered by PennDOT.
The Current Plan is to begin the Phase I Traffic Plan on MONDAY, October 13th.
Phase I - Millers Run Road Bridge & Wabash Avenue will be closed to all but local traffic on Wabash. This orientation will remain in place until all utility relocations have been completed. There is no definitive time frame for this particular Traffic Phase, but most likely will extend into the winter months. During Phase I, Sygan Road & First Street will remain open to all traffic.
Phase II - Millers Run Road Bridge, Sygan Road & First Street will be closed to all traffic until the overall completion of the project, which is scheduled for August/September 2009. During Phase II Wabash Avenue will be opened to school buses, emergency vehicles and local traffic.
