    Aquatics Instructors / Lifeguards

    Age: 14 years or older

    Certifications for Lifeguards: Lifeguarding / CPR for the Professional Rescuer

    Beginning Instructors are reliable and responsible and should be willing to further skill

    knowledge for lesson instruction. Instructors will be hired on an interview and

    performance basis conducted by the Aquatics Director. This position requires passing

    Pay Rate: $8.00 / hour

    Clearances are needed for this position. Below is the list of clearances needed:

    • Act 34 and Act 151 Clearances - Shall not be more than 1 year old at time of hire.
    • Fingerprint Clearance/Act 114

      • The website is available 24 hours a day, seven days per week. You will need to enter code 1KG6XN
      • Telephonic registration is available at 1-844-321-2101 Monday through Friday, 8am to 6pm EST.
      • Choose a location to have your fingerprints electronically scanned. You can find locations at https://www.IdentoGO.com/locations The recommendation from the company is to make an appointment.
      • The fee for the FBI clearance is $22.60. You will make your payment when the prints are scanned. You MUST take a photo ID with you. Please note; no cash or personal checks are accepted.
      • You will need to provide the UEID(Universal Enrollment ID) code to employer

    • Act 126 Mandated Child Reporting Certificate
    • Tuberculin Skin Test (TB test) - Shall be no more than 3 months old at time of hire.

    All clearances, application and a copy of a workers permit are required at time of interview.

    Instructors and lifeguards are not permitted to work until cleared by the South Fayette School District School Board. The approval process cannot start until all of the above information is sent to and approved by Victoria Adams.

    Post Approval Information

    After the new hire instructor or lifeguard has been approved by the South Fayette School Board, the Aquatics Director will notify them of their approval.

    Next, the new hire will be instructed to set up a meeting time with Victoria Adams to finish payroll paperwork. This meeting MUST be scheduled before the pre-season meeting. She can be reached by phone at: 724-693-3045 or by email at: vradams@southfayette.org

    New hire instructors will then be required to attend a pre-season staff meeting with the Aquatics Director to practice safety procedures, learn skills required for lessons and learn work expectations.

    New hires will receive seasonal packets with all requirements of each level, their assigned seasonal levels, season calendars, updated safety information, a list of expectations, how to request off work and organization of the pool.
