Dear IS Families:
PTA Fall Festival parties will be held on Thursday, October 28. Parties will take place in third, fourth, and fifth grade homerooms at the following times:
- Third Grade Parties: 12:00-1:00
- Fourth Grade Parties: 12:50-1:50
- Fifth Grade Parties: 2:00-3:00
In accordance with the District's health and safety plan, the only outside participants at our Halloween parties will be the PTA homeroom representatives. They will be required to conduct the district’s self-screening health questionnaire before arriving to the building, and temperature checks will be conducted upon arrival. We have asked our homeroom representatives to not attend if they have any COVID-19 symptoms.
We have established party protocols to help keep our students safe and healthy.
- All party stations need to be no more than 10 minutes in duration.
- Students will remain in small cohorts during the party.
- Universal masking will be enforced.
- Proper hand hygiene will be followed.
- PTA homeroom reps and teachers will socially distance themselves from students to the greatest extent possible.
To balance the desire for fun and the necessity of maintaining a respectful, safe school environment, the following party guidelines must be adhered to by all students.
- Please do not send any food items to school for the parties.
- If you choose to send in a “treat” for the children, it must be a non-food item. Families also have the option to donate a book for the classroom library or a game for inside recess in lieu of individual items for every student.
- Halloween costumes should be carried to school. Students will not be permitted to ride the bus wearing a costume nor will they be permitted to wear the costume for the entire school day. Students will be allotted 15 minutes to put on their costumes before the parties begin.
- Students need to be able to dress themselves, and costumes need to fit over school clothing.
- Due to space restrictions, inflatable costumes are not permitted.
- Halloween masks and face paint are not permitted. Colored hair is allowed.
- Costumes depicting monsters, death, or other frightening characters are not permitted.
- Items resembling guns, swords, or other weapons are not permitted.
