COVID-19 Case in Middle School: No Closure

Today, Wednesday, September 16, 2020, it was confirmed that there was a positive COVID-19 case in South Fayette Middle School. The individual concerned will be isolated at home for 10 days. The District is working with the Allegheny County Health Department (ACHD) to contact trace, and the ACHD is contacting any individual deemed to be in close contact for possible quarantine. At this time, with the recommendation from the Allegheny County Health Department, South Fayette Township Middle School will remain open. Any areas of exposure have been cleaned and disinfected. Due to privacy laws, the District is unable to disclose any individuals involved. The South Fayette Township School District puts safety first and will follow its Health and Safety Plan and the recommendations from the Allegheny County Health Department.
