SFMS student wins Scholastic Art and Writing Award
Congratulations to Middle School student, Tvesha Bhatt, for receiving recognition in the 2021 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, presented by the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards of Southwestern Pennsylvania and California University of Pennsylvania, for her critical essay titled: Education, Exclusion, Employment: Ableism’s Role in the US Wealth Gap.  Tvesha has won the Gold Key Award.  Her work was recognized by a panel of creative professionals.  

In their 93-year history, the Awards have recognized some of America’s most celebrated artists, including Amanda Gorman, whose inaugural poem garnered national adulation. Other past honorees include Andy Warhol, Sylvia Plath, Robert Redford, Richard Avedon, Robert Indiana, Cy Twombly, Ken Burns, John Baldessari, among others.

Tvesha will be invited to attend the Exhibit and Awards Ceremony to be recognized for this amazing accomplishment!
