Curriculum

The curriculum at the South Fayette Township School District goes beyond the standards set forth  by the state. State standards are our minimum expectation. We are student centered, future focused and innovation driven. Our curriculum lays a foundation for our students to achieve the knowledge, skills and dispositions needed for tomorrow through unique and varied learning experiences from Kindergarten through 12th grade.  We believe that our curriculum needs to be comprehensive and balanced in order to meet the needs of every learner every day.

South Fayette Township School District is known for its “Tradition, Pride & Excellence,” a reputation earned through consistent commitment to best practices in literacy and numeracy, supportive parents and community, thriving student body, talented professional teaching staff, research and data informed instructional practices and assessments that measure both growth and achievement. Our pioneering integration of computational thinking throughout all grade levels provides additional skills for future readiness.

Every course offered at South Fayette has a comprehensive curriculum map used by our staff for guidance and available to the public by request. Additionally, daily assignments, materials and goals are posted in Canvas. Families may view these daily expectations by viewing their child’s Canvas pages.
