Dr. Crimone joins the South Fayette School District from the North Allegheny School District where she most recently served as the 6-12 principal of the North Allegheny Cyber Academy and previously was the assistant principal of Carson Middle School. At North Allegheny, she led a district-wide middle level initiative to implement the “Connections” program to connect students with their peers and the adults in the buildings, as well as to target the social and emotional learning of middle school students. She also served on the District’s Comprehensive Planning Committee and was the middle level administrative liaison to the English Language Arts Department. During the 2020-21 school year, Dr. Crimone was recognized by the Allegheny Intermediate Unit, Grable Foundation, and Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation as one of the “Pittsburgh Penguins Most Valuable Principals”.

Prior to serving in the North Allegheny School District, Dr. Crimone was a Unit Principal at Mt. Lebanon High School. At Mt. Lebanon, she was involved with initiatives including the implementation of the Link Crew 8th to 9th grade transition program and the selection of new alternative education programs for high school students. She was also the administrative liaison for the English Department.

Dr. Crimone began her career in education as a middle and high school English teacher in the Keystone Oaks School District.  As a teacher she was the internal coordinator for the Middle States Accreditation process, served on the School Improvement Team, was head coach for girls’ varsity basketball and co-ed Cross Country, and also coached middle school girls’ and boys’ basketball and track.

Dr. Crimone earned a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education as well as a Bachelor of Arts in English from Penn State University.  She also holds a Master of Education in School Leadership and Curriculum and Instruction as well as her K-12 Principal Certification and Director of Curriculum Certification from Gannon University. Additionally, Dr. Crimone holds a Superintendent Letter of Eligibility from California University of Pennsylvania and earned her Educational Doctorate in School Leadership from the University of Pittsburgh.

Dr. Kevin S. Maurer, Ed.D. has served as the South Fayette Middle School Assistant Principal since 2016. His title was changed to Associate Principal in October, 2020. He joined the South Fayette Township School District as an instrumental and general music teacher in 2010. Throughout his time as a music educator, he served as the High School and Middle School Jazz Ensemble Director as well as the High School Assistant Marching Band Director.

An active member of the Pennsylvania Music Educators' Association (PMEA), Dr. Maurer co-hosted band festivals, presented professional development workshops, and prepared students to be accepted by application and audition under his leadership for various honors band festivals. Dr. Maurer has also conducted rehearsals and performances for the Western Area Middle School Honors Band Festivals. He now serves as an arts education advocate for the district and region.
Dr. Maurer has significant and creative expertise in digital media and technology. He has created multimedia productions for the school district and served as a Middle School Media Club Sponsor. He is currently serving as a School Safety Co-Coordinator for the school district.

In addition to his work on District curriculum and instructional technology committees, Dr. Maurer has also served as a member of the Don Eichhorn “Schools to Watch” application writing committee which resulted in the Middle School receiving the prestigious recognition in 2016 and re-designation in 2019. He has also demonstrated a passion for building positive relationships with students in his service as a student assistance program team member, crisis team member, True G.R.I.T. (Growing Responsible and Influential Teens) Program founder, "Friend of Rachel” teacher sponsor for the former Rachel’s Challenge/P.A.W.S. Program, and co-creator and student advisor of the Middle School Advisory Program.

Dr. Maurer attained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Education from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania (2009). He earned a Master of Education Degree (2014) and Principal Certification K-12 (2014) from California University of Pennsylvania. He earned his Doctorate of Educational Leadership and Administration (2021) from Point Park University and is completing his Superintendent Letter of Eligibility.
