Dr. Dirda joined the South Fayette School District from the North Allegheny School District where she most recently served as the principal at North Allegheny Senior High School (NASH). At North Allegheny, she led work to update the District’s Program of Studies and created the NASH Engagement initiative to increase student engagement at the senior high school. She also served on the District’s Comprehensive Planning Committee and was the secondary level administrative liaison to the World Language Department.
Prior to serving in the North Allegheny School District, Dr. Dirda was an elementary principal within the Mt. Lebanon School District and she served as a Unit Principal at Mt. Lebanon High School. At Mt. Lebanon, she was involved with initiatives including the implementation of Social-Emotional Learning programs K-12 and was also the administrative liaison for the World Language Department.
Dr. Dirda began her career in education as a high school mathematics teacher in the North Hills School District and Upper St. Clair School District. She enjoyed being a part of the Student Assistance Program at both high schools. While teaching, she also served as the girls’ varsity soccer coach for 7 years at Montour High School. her Alma Mater, as well as Upper St. Clair High School for 2 years.
Dr. Dirda holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Virginia Tech where she was Rookie of the Year for the women’s soccer program. She has a master’s degree in instructional leadership from Robert Morris University, earned her K-12 principal certification from California University of Pennsylvania and a doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Pittsburgh.
