Assistant Superintendent Evaluation

Assistant Superintendent Performance Review for 2022-2023

A performance review of the Assistant Superintendent must be completed annually by the Board of School Directors and Superintendent.  In accordance with Section 1073.1 of the Public School Code, the Board of School Directors shall post the mutually agreed to performance standards on the District's publicly accessible website.  Upon completion of the annual performance review,  the Board shall post the date of the review and whether the Assistant Superintendent met the objective performance standards on the District’ publicly accessible website.

On August 22, 2023, the South Fayette Township School District Board of Directors rated Dr. Kristin Deichler on the eight performance standards noted below. Dr. Deichler met each of these standards for the 2022-2023 school year.


Performance Standards:

Standard 1:    Annual Planning, Shared Vision, and Strategic Goals
The Assistant Superintendent, as an educational leader, promotes personalized student success by possessing the knowledge to plan strategically to create and sustain an organizational vision of learning that is shared and supported by the school community.

Standard 2:    Culture of Learning  
The Assistant Superintendent, as an educational leader, promotes personalized student success by advocating, nurturing, and sustaining a school culture and instructional program conducive to student and adult learning and continuous improvement. 
 
Standard 3:    Organizational and Team Leadership (Management)
The Assistant Superintendent, as an educational leader, promotes personalized student success by ensuring management of fiscal resources, appropriate allocation of resources, human resource management, and systems management for a safe, efficient, and effective learning environment.

Standard 4:    Family and Community Relations
The Assistant Superintendent, as an educational leader, promotes personalized student success by collaborating, communicating, engaging, and empowering others inside and outside of the organization to pursue excellence in learning.

Standard 5:    School District Policies and Procedures
The Assistant Superintendent, as an educational leader, promotes personalized student success  by implementing and following policies, regulations, and procedures at the direction of the Board and Superintendent and in collaboration with District Leadership.

Standard 6:    Professional Growth and Development of Self and Others
The Assistant Superintendent, as an educational leader, promotes personalized student success by supporting professional growth of self and others through practice and inquiry.

Standard 7:    Professionalism and Educational Advocacy
The Assistant Superintendent, as an educational leader, promotes personalized student success by operating in a fair and equitable manner with personal and professional ethics and integrity and advocates for children and public education in the larger political, social, economic, legal, and cultural context.

Objective Performance Standards
     1.  Creation of Portrait of an Educator
     2.  Increase personalization of high school experiences for students through scheduling, graduation requirements, and greater hands-on opportunities.
     3.  Create Project Based Learning playbook for educators to utilize in implementation of PBLs in classroom instruction; Embed PBL expectations for Inductees.
     4.  Create a “Teacher Apprenticeship” pipeline learning experience for high school students to work with SF educators and students to experience the career of teaching.
     5.  Co-host monthly meetings with parents/caregivers to provide opportunities to share good news and to respond to concerns in an open communication and timely  format.
