Superintendent Evaluation

Superintendent Performance Review for 2022-2023


A performance review of the Superintendent must be completed annually by the Board of School Directors.  In accordance with Section 1073.1 of the Public School Code, the Board of School Directors shall post the mutually agreed to performance standards on the District's publicly accessible website.  Upon completion of the annual performance review, the Board shall post the date of the review and whether the Superintendent met the objective performance standards on the District’ publicly accessible website.

On August 22, 2023, the South Fayette Township School District Board of Directors rated Dr. Michelle Miller on the eight performance standards noted below. Dr. Miller met each of these standards for the 2022-2023 school year.


Performance Standards:

1.    Annual Planning, Shared Vision, and Strategic Goals
The Superintendent, as educational leader, promotes personalized student success by possessing the knowledge to plan strategically to create and sustain an organizational vision of learning that is shared and supported by the school community.

2.    Culture of Learning
The Superintendent, as educational leader, promotes personalized student success by advocating, nurturing, and sustaining a school culture and instructional program conducive to student and adult learning and continuous improvement.  

3.    Organizational and Team Leadership
The Superintendent, as educational leader, promotes personalized student success by ensuring management of fiscal resources, appropriate allocation of resources, human resource management, and systems management for a safe, efficient, and effective learning environment.

4.    Family and Community Relations
The Superintendent, as educational leader, promotes personalized student success by collaborating, communicating, engaging, and empowering others inside and outside of the organization to pursue excellence in learning

5.    School Board Relations, Policy, and Governance
The Superintendent, as educational leader, promotes personalized student success with the Board of Directors by effectively collaborating, communicating internally and externally, executing policies established by the Board and developing regulations and procedures consistent with policies, and establishing an overall business/professional relationship with the Board.

6.    Professional Growth and Development of Self and Others
The Superintendent, as educational leader, promotes personalized student success by supporting professional growth of self and others through practice and inquiry.

7.    Professionalism and Educational Advocacy
The Superintendent, as educational leader, promotes personalized student success by operating in a fair and equitable manner with personal and professional ethics and integrity and advocates for children and public education in the larger political, social, economic, legal, and cultural context.

8.    Objective Performance Standards
      1.    Oversee District-wide implementation of World of Work

      2.    Create Administrative Regulations for updated policies

      3.    Highlight a program, staff member, or student(s) at each Board meeting to promote positive public relations on a consistent and public basis.

      4.    Meet with all teachers in the District in departments, grade levels, or Individually to open lines of communication and identify any teacher level questions or concerns.

      5.    Co-host monthly meetings with parents/caregivers to provide opportunities to share good news and to respond to concerns in an open communication and timely format.
